How Intentions Can Help You Achieve Your Goals

Happy New Year! It's a new year and it's a great time to set some intentions for 2021. Setting intentions is a powerful tool for helping us achieve goals and find happiness.
It allows us to stay present in our every day lives well still working towards our goals. The biggest part of setting intentions for yourself is to think about what you want to accomplish, how can I grow, and what do I want to accomplish this year.

There are two ways you can set intentions for yourself. The first, I find is the easiest if you have never made intentions before. Pick a theme or a word for 2021, one that encompasses multiple meanings such as "Growth" . Growth can mean a lot of things like I want to grow in my position at work or grow to be better in my yoga practice. Finding your word or theme can be a very creative and clarifying exercise. To remind yourself of your word/theme write it down somewhere you can see it, make it a password or create a vision board around. Anything that will help keep it in your mind.

The second way to set intentions is to make them daily, monthly or yearly and to write them down to achieve an over arching goal. Writing them down will help you stay motivated, achieve small accomplishments and look to your future goals.

1.Decide what truly matters to you.- Write down 5 things that truly matter to you. This will help you focus on what you want to work on for the year.

2. Explore the many areas of your life that need a upgrade. - Make sure to explore all aspects of your life before deciding on your intentions. (Personal, professional, social life, health, spiritualty and community etc.)

3. Be specific and thoughtful. When you are setting an intention for each of your goals, be specific about what you want to achieve, when and how, why you want to achieve it. Make sure you think about what you need to achieve these goals.

Whether you choose a word/theme intention or the option of writing them down. Your success simply relies on doing small things daily, weekly and monthly to help you achieve your intentions. Let your intentions motivate you this year. Here's to better more intentional 2021.
